Intro

Brand new conversion hostel set on one acre.  Located in lower Puna just outside of the eclectic little town of Pahoa,  just six miles to some of the best snorkeling locations on the island and relaxing natural hot ponds. Also located nearby is the infamous clothing-optional black sand beach Kehena, actual HOT lava, steam vents and more www.pahoaonline.com .

Descriptions

The hostel is in a gorgeous garden-like setting. Coconut, macadamia nut, avocado, sugar cane, kukui nut, tangerine, starfruit, pineapple, and other fruit trees/plants populate the land, and all guests are welcome to help themselves to any fruiting trees. There is a large lawn in the front which is perfect for yoga, catching some sun, or dancing. We have a fully equipped kitchen. The hostel also includes wifi, a cozy fireplace, tons of books to read, games to play, (hot tub coming soon) poker table, and fantastic, fun owners. We have individual rooms or shared.

$25 a night, with a 3 night minimum per person(shared).

$50 a night private room.

Public bus($1) comes to the corner of Leilani ave and Hookupu st 2-4 times a day and can be caught from all over the island.

Policies

We have ponds that may be considered a hazard to small children.

Please have your own blankets, food, soap, towels, and transportation.

Rides are available but paying the driver is expected.

I just testified to the council for the plastic bag ban

The plastic bag ban is expected to pass .  Now 3 of our islands will be plastic bag free.
I told them how its been something that’s near dear to my heart for several years now. I told them how I’ve created a documentary about plastic bags. I told them how I interviewed ryan k rubbish . and the 1 thing he said that would be have the biggest impact is banning plastic bags. I told of about the story of when I was in kauaii on the first day of the plastic bag ban there. I was walking from the grocery store with my paper bag of groceries in the rain. And sure enough all my groceries ended up on the ground. And all I could do was smile. Because the plastic bag ban is so important to me. And I couldn’t help but think how could I forget my reusable bags. Another lesson we all need to learn. Remember your  reusable bags!!
