Beautiful cliffs and rainbows. Camping caves and steam vents.
Puna is the only districk in all of Hawaii that has volcanic natural steam vents.

Kehena beach is a lovely place. Black sand beach, swimmable shore break on a good day, you can swim with dolphins at times. Sunday really vamps up all the new Bohemians and hippies come and a large drum circle forms and music is heard all day and evening. CLOTHING OPTIONAL. so come at your own discretion. ENJOY!

This is a locals favorite. Affectionately nicknamed Gilligan’s Island. Only at the highest tide does the water cut you off from the rest of civilization. The full moon is usually a good indicator…

The first church, started by Father Damien.
This church was in the line of the lava flow in the 80s and the community jacked and moved it to its current location.
There are 4 painted churches on the big island. THIS ONE IS THE MOST SPECIAL.
